Pearl Drum To Abandon Australian Retailers
Pearl drums is planning to no longer sell products through Australian stores and use Amazon instead as it’s only sale channel in Australia.
With freight costs currently at around $600 I can’t see how most customers may find any value buying directly from Amazon site unseen, unheard and any issues that may arise.
And while the experienced drummers may have less trouble knowing what they want for many purchases it eliminates the comparison factor when they are looking for a sound but not sure which product will deliver it.
This will probably exclude beginners and intermediate players looking to compare sounds, tone and value.
Pearl is betting on Australians buying on brand alone, I doubt this would increase sales and most likely do the opposite.
In context Australia is a very small and stagnant market for most musical instrument companies who don’t view it as all that important to their global plans.
